IOWA CITY – Iowa football wide receiver Kaleb Brown was arrested early Sunday morning and is facing multiple charges, including OWI, according to Johnson County records.

According to police, Brown was seen driving a black Dodge Durango with heavy front-end damage, including a front wheel that had turned completely sideways. Brown allegedly backed the vehicle onto a lawn and rotated the tires.

The police report shows Brown had bloodshot and watery eyes, slurred speech, poor balance and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. Police say Brown refused to submit to sobriety and breath tests. Police say this is his first OWI charge.

Brown is also charged with possession of a fictitious license, identification card or form, according to arrest records. Brown, who is 20 years old, is said to be in possession of a fake driver’s license that stated an age over 21.

Brown transferred from Ohio State to Iowa prior to the 2023 season. In his first season with the Hawkeyes, Brown caught 22 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown. During a two-game stretch in November, he hauled in a combined 10 catches for 98 yards and one touchdown.

Brown was expected to be one of Iowa’s top wide receiver targets heading into the 2024 season.
