Robert Dana Weaver, Obituary | PenBay Pilot

BELFAST – Robert Dana Weaver, 92, of Belfast, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family (daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren) by his side.

He was born on April 13, 1932 in Frankfort, Maine to Marco B. and Elizabeth Weaver. He was the youngest and last survivor of eight children and this generation of Weavers. Howard, Beatrice, Harold, Hazel, Bernice, Raymond and Wilmer were predeceased.

Bob was a dedicated family man and hard worker. He worked numerous jobs growing up. He worked at the Truitt Bros shoe factory for fifteen years, chopping pulpwood from his woodlots in the evenings and on weekends for extra money. He loved hunting on his woodlot and spent many Novembers in his RV in the country.

He married Jacqueline Roberts in January 1952; they celebrated 55 years of marriage before she passed away. They settled in Monroe and raised their family before moving to Belfast in 1968, where he and Jackie purchased and operated The Dairy Cup for more than thirty years.

He is survived by his four daughters and their spouses, Rose Walker and Keith Bemis of Etna, Doreen and Fred Littlefield, Pamela and Timothy Merry, Sharon and Larry Peavey, all of Swanville; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and special cousins ​​Larry and Gary Weaver.

He was predeceased by his wife Jackie; his son, Claude; and Doreen’s twin brother, daughter Deborah.

The family would like to thank the team at Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of our father. Thanks to them, Dad could be exactly where he wanted to be: at home. They loved him and he loved them. In his final days, he would hear their voices and reach out to them. Their kindness towards him will never be forgotten.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, June 28 at Swanville Community Church on Town House Road, Swanville, with committal to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Swanville.
