Clubhound dog park and beer bar opening in Garden City in July

Tails can officially start wagging.

After waiting more than a year, Boise dog owners and their canine friends have a new meeting place on the horizon.

Clubhound has set the opening date. The new dog park, beer and coffee shop at 415 E. Remington St. in Garden City will celebrate its grand opening on July 13 and 14, according to an online posting.

The 2.5-acre designation will include “ample play space for dogs, both leashed and off-leash, a large shaded patio, indoor space, an area for hosting private events” and more, according to a spring news release.

Clubhound will serve drinks ranging from local beer and wine to kombucha, kava and “innovative alternative drinks.” It will also be home to a well-known local coffee roaster: Alchemist Coffee. According to the release, Alchemist will operate a full-service indoor coffee kiosk.

Open from 8am. to 10 p.m. daily, Clubhound plans to fill its calendar with promotions, including “rotating food trucks, dog-focused vendor events and exclusive member gatherings, so there’s always something for everyone.” Fast Wi-Fi will also be available.

Clubhound says that “dogs are the members and bring their people along for fun. People can go without furry friends; all are welcome.”

“Dogs can let off steam in a 60,000-square-foot play area, all under the supervision of our trained Rufferees,” Clubhound explains on its website. “The free play area is fully fenced, with fun play equipment and engaging activities led by the Rufferrees during the day. This gives you the freedom to let your dog have fun while you enjoy all the club’s amenities.”

And after the sun sets? Thanks to the solar-powered light paths, you can play until 10 p.m

Clubhound isn’t the first dog destination in the United States with a food and beverage component. Established brands in other states range from Bar K – with locations in Kansas City, St. Louis and Oklahoma City – to the Texas-based franchise chain Mutts Canine Cantina.
