West Hartford resident Tracy Weed, writing as Grace Hartwell, releases her second historical romance on July 1. A former president and current active member of the CT chapter of Romance Writers of America (CTRWA), she released her first book in 2020, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the second in the series.

Everything I want, book two in the Hesitant Husbands series, will be available prior to release at the Farmington Barnes & Noble Romance Writers book signing event on June 29, 2024, from noon to 6 p.m.

Barnes & Noble has partnered with CTRWA to offer several book signings across the state, including an author reading at the Enfield location on July 27 from 6 to 8 p.m., and Glastonbury on August 17 from noon to 3 p.m. Readers can meet their favorite authors, or discover a new one, and writers in the community will benefit from connecting with other local authors.

As an indie author, Weed admits she has to work extra hard to get her name out there. “I’ve wanted to be an author all my life, and I thank Romance Writers of America for helping me make that possible. My local chapter has been very supportive and offers great programming for writers of all genres, not just romance. Indie authors don’t get the same exposure as traditionally published authors, although we are no less worthy of that attention! I’m absolutely thrilled that Barnes & Noble reached out to us and is giving us the time to highlight our local indie authors and all the romance genres they write!”

A lifelong Connecticut resident, Weed began her publishing career after her husband’s death and the ensuing pandemic two months later threatened to permanently crush her spirit. She took the plunge in October 2020 and has been steadily building a career as a novelist. The learning curve was steep, but the friendships and support she found through CTRWA helped her climb that mountain. She proudly served as president from ages 22 to 24 and is now VP of Programming for the chapter. She is also the author of the novella A Countess For Christmas and has appeared in three anthologies.
