Science Center in Phoenix hosts live session with ocean research vessel

Especially for independent news media

The Arizona Science Center will broadcast live at an upcoming event with OceanXplorer, the world’s most advanced exploration, research and media vessel, currently located in the depths of the ocean in Indonesia.

Visit the Irene P. Flinn Giant Screen Theater on the downtown Arizona Science Center campus for a live broadcast of OceanXplorer. The event, hosted by OceanX CEO Vincent Pieribone and featuring Mattie Rodrigue, Arizona native and OceanX’s Science Program Director, provides a behind-the-scenes look at ocean exploration and the groundbreaking research conducted on the ship.

Before joining the OceanX team, Rodrigue earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences, with a focus on conservation and ecology, from Arizona State University.

The event, which takes place Thursday, June 27 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, will allow guests to interact with onboard scientists as they explore the deep sea and conduct cutting-edge research. Ask questions in real time, witness live experiments and gain insight into the mysteries of the oceans.

Pieribone will sit down for Fireside Chat and Q&A after the livestream.

The event is included with all Arizona Science Center memberships and general admission.
