Michigan Inns Chase Best Wine Country Hotel in America Title

Cali, we’re coming for you, and we’re bringing the wine country experience with us.

Michiganders know that we have some of the most beautiful wine country in the world, with some of the best wineries around. In addition, there are some beautiful accommodations that will tempt any wine lover. Now it seems, USA today agrees with what we already know, and so do the readers.

Voting is currently underway to find USA Today’s best 10 best hotels in wine regions and this year, not one, but two of Michigan’s best are in the running to make the list. A panel of experts narrowed the number down to 20 hotels and inns that “provide a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine after a day of touring and tasting in wine regions across the country.” Now it’s up to USA Today readers to choose the very best.

USA Today’s Best Wine Country nominees in Michigan

The following hotels hope to make the list of the 10 best wine hotels in America this year:

Chantal Castle~

“Chateau Chantal, just north of Traverse City, Michigan, combines a vineyard and winery with luxury B&B accommodations. All suites and rooms have exceptional views of the vineyards or Grand Traverse Bay, many with private patios or balconies, and several with wet bars and hot tubs. The inn’s amenities include fireplaces and sitting areas, plus an exceptional breakfast,” USA Today wrote of the popular Traverse City inn.

The Inn at Black Star Farms-

“The Inn at Black Star Farms places guests in the heart of the Traverse Wine Coast, with easy access to wineries and tasting rooms on the Old Mission and Leelanau Wine Trails. Each stay includes a daily breakfast, a nightly hospitality hour with wine and small canapés, a bottle of house wine and an exclusive tasting in the barrel room,” says the biography of the Suttons Bay gem.

It’s pretty impressive to have two hotels in Michigan up for consideration considering the business they keep. Of the twenty in the running, fifteen are based in California. While Cali is usually the first that comes to mind when it comes to wine country, Michigan is holding its own and making a name for itself.

Here you can cast your vote for your favorite Wine Country Hotel in America.
