Council supports Ipswich businesses in 2024-25 budget

Ipswich’s fast-growing business community is at the heart of the city’s 2024-2025 Annual Plan and Budget.

Chair of the Economic and Cultural Development Committee, Councilor Pye Augustine, said with Ipswich’s economy surpassing $13 billion this year, the city’s economic development strategy is making its mark.

“In this Annual Plan and Budget for the period 2024-2025, Council will advance the implementation of its economic development strategy and support and enable our local businesses to thrive,” said Cr. Augustine.

“Local businesses are absolutely vital in Ipswich, employing more residents, generating more jobs and continuing to grow our economy faster than any other council in South East Queensland.

“The Council will continue to deliver practical, supportive programs and events for local businesses this year, including our latest initiative, the New Business Breakfast.

“The Council is working with the Ipswich Region Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce to maximize business engagement and build a connected, thriving economy.

“The Council is also supporting our businesses through the Ipswich Central Revitalization by delivering placemaking programs to improve liveability, implementing recommendations from the Place Plans and continuing the Frame the Front Door programme.”
