Estrada vs. ‘Bam’ Rodriguez live on DAZN on June 29 in Phoenix

WBC super flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada vs. Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez has some good fights that will interest fans on Saturday’s undercard at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The event will be shown live on DAZN at 8:00 PM ET.

The jewel of the undercard sees former IBF flyweight champion Sunny Edwards (20-1, 4 KOs) take on former IBF light flyweight champion Adrian Curiel (24-5-1, 5 KOs) in a 12-round bout. Both fighters are coming off knockout losses and are in desperate need of a win.

Edwards, 28, was knocked out in the ninth round by “Bam” Rodriguez in his recent fight on December 16, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona.

Until he was stopped in the ninth, Edwards gave ‘Bam’ a lot of trouble with his crafty fighting style and his ability to make him miss. Ultimately, Rodriguez proved it

Sunny won’t have to worry about power on Saturday night as former IBF 108-pound champion Curiel, 25, is not a big puncher, and the fight will come down to which of the two has the superior skills.

You have to favor Sunny to be too good for Curiel in this fight, unless he is still hurting from the defeat he suffered against ‘Bam’ last December, and you can’t rule that out as he has taken a lot of heavy punishment from the power puncher.

Mercado vs. Ali: Championship Defense

In another interesting match at the Estrada vs. On Saturday’s Rodriguez card, WBC female super bantamweight champion Yamileth Mercado (23-3, 5 KOs) defends against Ramla Ali (9-1, 2 KOs) in a ten-round bout.

The 34-year-old Ramla recently avenged her only defeat to Julissa Guzman by defeating her with a ten-round unanimous decision on November 4, 2023. In their previous fight, Guzman had knocked out Ramla in the eighth round last June.
