Police investigate shots fired in Springfield

Police are investigating a report of shots fired in Springfield early Saturday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the area of ​​Columbus Ave and James Street around 12:14 p.m. for reports of shots fired in the area.

The Springfield Police Department officer in charge told News Center 7 that callers reported hearing four to six shots and vehicles speeding away from the area.
