Doodle found in very bad shape in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Our featured lost dog looks like he’s been out on his own for awhile.

Animal control thinks that because the dog is a very popular breed that’s rarely dumped, but he’s in very rough shape.

Shelter coordinator Josh Doss says, “he’s got very matted hair in places that we’ve trimmed up in places. He had a couple of wounds on his feet where he might have been bit by a critter while he was out running loose. He’s definitely skinnier than he should be so probably hasn’t had a regular meal in awhile.”

A typical male Labradoodle should be about 90 pounds and this dog is around 75.

He was found on north Grant across from Hillcrest highschool, close to the city limits. The wounds on his feet are starting to heal but he’ll need a good shave down because of the mats.

He didn’t have any tag, collar or chip but he’s very socialized and friendly and has obviously been owned.

If you recognize him, call animal control at 417-833-3592. You can also contact them through their website.

And if you’ve lost or found a pet, please submit them to the Leigh’s Lost and Found facebook page. Include a picture, city and cross streets.
