Frenken, Gerardus “Gerry” Hubertus

In peace, at Hospice Quinte on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 90.

Predeceased by his wife and best friend of 58 years Frances (nee Charland). Loving father of Janet Minicola, the late Lisa Jordan (survived by Jim), Julie Mayer (Mike) and Steven (Linda).

Beloved grandfather of Stephanie (Elmer), Justin (Natalie), Ryan (Emma), Nicholas (Victoria), Erica (Colin), Jordan (Mia), Cailey (Tyler), Paige (Connor) and Cameron. Great-grandfather of Mason and Lucy, Malachi, Tage, Sian and Elly and Leny. Predeceased by his siblings John, Pete, Cornelius, Fritz and Mary, and survived by his brother Hubert.

Will be lovingly remembered by all his extended family and friends.

Gerry was a well-known part of the Kingston Community as the owner and operator of a family business, most notably Frenken’s Toy Shop, and volunteered in the hospitals.

He was an active member of St. Paul Apostle Parish, including his involvement with the Knights of Columbus.

He was a great family man, a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He spent many happy retired years in Florida with his beloved Frances.

Guests are invited to the Township Chapel of the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home, 435 Davis Drive on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Church on Thursday, June 27 at 1:30 p.m., followed by refreshments in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Quinte or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
