Impasse en route with ‘barricaded subject’ on the northeast side of Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa – Multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in a standoff with a barricaded subject in the 2900 block of E. 40th Street.

Des Moines police released a brief statement via X around noon about the situation, which followed a pursuit. DMPD said the perimeter has been secured and negotiations with the subject are ongoing.

No other information was immediately released.
