Man charged in burglary and carjacking at Maryland apartment complex

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (DC News Now) – The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) said a man was arrested Sunday in connection with an attempted burglary and carjacking at an apartment complex.

On June 9, just before 4:30 a.m., officers responded to the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard for an attempted burglary.

During the investigation, detectives learned that 30-year-old Samuel Robert Bajard and other people allegedly attempted to break into an apartment.

According to police, Bajard and the group kicked in the front door and threw a rock at the window.

According to police, the resident confronted the group and allegedly sprayed them with bear spray. The group then took off and drove away in a car.

Police said as Bajard and the other suspect left the complex, they allegedly assaulted the driver of a Toyota Camry. They then stole the car and left the area.
