Multiple sources have reported that Deputy District Attorney Joshua Seiden has left the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office just weeks before the primary.

Seiden has served as deputy district attorney since DA Suzanne Valdez took office in 2021 and served as treasurer during her election campaign, and he is listed as her treasurer in the current election. Throughout Valdez’s campaign and tenure, Seiden frequently appeared on social media defending the office from online criticism.

The Journal-World has contacted the district attorney’s office to learn more about the terms of his departure and has reached out to Seiden himself. Much of Seiden’s social media presence has disappeared from the internet in recent days.

Valdez faces two competitors in the upcoming Democratic Primary, attorneys Tonda Hill and Dakota Loomis, on August 5.
