The Delaware General Assembly is preparing for the final week of the 2024 session

DOVER – The final days of the 2024 legislative session are here.

The 152NL The General Assembly will conclude its work this week as the House of Representatives and Senate will meet on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before the final day of session on Sunday.

This week, lawmakers will work to pass the bond bill, which includes funding for capital projects such as school renovations and road construction.

The General Assembly will also work to pass the Annual Grants Act, which provides funding to a variety of Delaware nonprofits.

The Joint Finance Committee will solidify funding plans for nonprofits on Thursday, likely sending them to both chambers for consideration through a suspension of the rules that afternoon or on Sunday.

Apart from the tax legislation that must be passed every year, lawmakers will complete their current business.

A number of committee hearings are scheduled in both chambers, although it is unclear which bills will be considered on either floor due to the dynamic nature of the final week of the legislative session.
