16-year-old dies after shooting Springfield youth, suspect charged

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Springfield police announced Monday that the victim of a Springfield homicide has died from his injuries.

On Friday, June 21 at 11:37 a.m., Springfield Police were called to a juvenile shooting at 2832 East Linwood St., where they found 16-year-old Davondre Thompson-Baugher suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital but died from his injuries on Sunday, June 23. His family has been informed of his death.


Officers took a juvenile into custody during the incident and were later transported to the Greene County Detention Center.

According to the Greene County Juvenile Detention Center, the suspect faces charges in juvenile court that would amount to involuntary manslaughter if he were tried as an adult.

This is the fourth homicide investigation in Springfield for 2024, including the fifth victim of the year.
