Golf ball-sized hail pounds the boat during a heavy storm

Golf ball-sized hail recently struck a boat on Lake Powell in Utah and footage of the incident has gone viral online, being viewed thousands of times on various social media sites.

The family on board watched in shock as the hail churned the surrounding waters.

Hail caused thunderous claps, which grew louder as the storm intensified.

It was strong enough to tear off chunks of the boat’s roof, which were floating in the water nearby.

The footage, filmed last Friday by Laura Powell, shows the extent of the damage.

Fortunately, despite the severity of the storm, no serious injuries were reported.
