Air quality warning issued for Phoenix area during warm weekend

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – Happy Saturday everyone!

There is a high ozone pollution advisory for Maricopa County on Saturday and Sunday.

High ozone levels can have a significant impact on your health, making breathing difficult, especially for children, older adults and people with breathing problems. It is advisable to limit outdoor activities during this time.

Saturday will be another warm day, with temperatures about 10 degrees above average for this time of year.

Phoenix will be in the mid 90s under mostly sunny skies.

Sunday is expected to be even warmer at 98 degrees with similar conditions expected for Monday as well.

A slow-moving weather system later next week will cool the forecast.

Temperatures will drop into the mid-80s Friday through the weekend, creating breezy conditions throughout the valley, with stronger winds expected in mountain areas.

With the second system there are some small chances of rain on higher ground, but we will keep a close eye on that.

Make sure you stay hydrated and wear sunscreen for the next few days.
