The rivalry between the Indiana Pacers and the New York Knicks reached a fever pitch on Friday night during WWE Smackdown.

Tyrese Haliburton, a noted wrestling fan, came to Madison Square Garden to boos as the Pacers star guard accompanied Logan Paul to the ring for a Money In The Bank qualifying match against LA Knight and Santos Escobar.

During the game, Haliburton had an altercation with Knicks star Jalen Brunson, who was sitting ringside. Haliburton, who was wearing a Tyrese 3:17 jersey in a callback to Stone Cold Steve Austin’s 3:16 saying and the Indianapolis area code, donned brass knuckles during the game. Brunson jumped over the barrier to confront Haliburton before two WWE officials jumped between the NBA All-Stars.

Later, Haliburton joined Paul in the ring. Brunson slid into the ring with a steel chair and exchanged words with Haliburton.

Paul lost the match to Knight. Afterwards, Haliburton said in a backstage interview, “I’m just happy New York won something.”

“I mean, they’re all feeling good over there, so good for them,” Haliburton said. “I hope they all sleep well tonight.”

Haliburton and the Pacers defeated the Knicks in their Eastern Conference semifinal in seven games.

Earlier this week, WWE announced that Indianapolis will host the 2025 Royal Rumble on February 1. Indy will also host a future Wrestlemania and Summerslam.
