Emma Raducanu is already in Madrid, ready to play the WTA1000 event – Tennis Tonic

Emma Raducanu has shown promising signs in the early stages of her 2024 clay season. She has had a good start with two wins at the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers and a further two wins in Stuttgart, where she reached the quarter-finals but was defeated by world champion Iga Swiatek.

Her recent performances have been encouraging, including a remarkable victory against Linda Noskova in the second round of the Stuttgart Open, where she won 6-0, 7-5 to set up a quarter-final against Swiatek. Raducanu has described 2024 as a “fresh start” for her career, and her recent play appears to be a testament to her determination to overcome past challenges and focus on her tennis development.

Emma has already arrived in Madrid, where she will begin her run in the main draw thanks to a wildcard.

Currently ranked no.303, the British played her last match on the 19e of April when she lost to world number 1 Iga Swiatek 7-6(2) 6-3 in the quarter in Stuttgart (draw).
