BOSTON, Mass.- The Bucknell Bison softball team (15-23, 6-7 Patriot League) played six of seven innings evenly with the league-leading Boston Terriers (38-4, 10-0 Patriot League), but a seven-run blowout the fifth frame unlocked victory for Boston.

Summary of the game

Boston scored seven runs in their fifth frame. A flyout started the inning and was followed by a walk and a single. Hunter Vestal came into the circle and walked, loading the bases. An RBI grounder accounted for the first run. Another walk loaded the bases again. A single up the middle accounted for two runs. A mistake by Brooke Popella scored another point. A walk took place that chased and brought Vestal Sarah Zimmerman in the circle. The freshman walked a batter to score the fifth run. A single to right center field accounted for the final two runs.
