The ‘LexFun’ consignment sale took place on April 20, 2024

Arlingtonians are welcome to join this long-standing nonprofit organization

UPDATED on April 20: LexFun, a volunteer-run parent organization serving Lexington and neighboring communities including Arlington, hosted its annual consignment sale on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Lexington High School fieldhouse, 251 Waltham St. Proceeds fund scholarships, organizers say.

The event featured “high quality, gently used” baby and children’s clothing and shoes, in sizes newborn to size 12, plus toys and other items, according to a news release.

The sale started at 10am for the public (8am for volunteers helping with the event). The half-price sale started at 1:30 p.m.; at 3 p.m., the sale of “bargain bags” was scheduled for an hour: anything that fit in a provided bag for $30.

LatestNewLexFUNLogoRegistered sellers at this event earned 50 percent of the profits they made; the balance is donated to the organization’s community fund used to help families in need. According to the release, sales raised more than $78,000 in 2023, which helped fund scholarships to support children’s education. Since the organization’s founding, $300,000 in grant money has been raised, and the grants range from $250 to $4,000 per family, Chu said.

According to its website, LexFun, which began in 1942, seeks to enrich the lives of families with young children in and around Lexington and provide support to members and the communities they serve.
