Masters champion Scottie Scheffler closes to victory in Hilton Head – The Irish News

Scottie Scheffler’s dominance of the PGA Tour shows no signs of slowing down as the world number one heads into the final day of the RBC Heritage with a one-shot lead at 16 under.

Fresh from securing his second Masters title in three years, the 27-year-old shot up the leaderboard in Hilton Head on Saturday with a bogey-free third-round score of eight-under 63.

He leads by one stroke over Austrian Sepp Straka, while American Collin Morikawa is outright third at 14 under.

Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy shot a second straight round of 68 to finish in 12th place at 10 under.

Meanwhile, defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick is in 25th place after the Englishman posted a score of 70 in the third round.
