Pack falls to Broncos in final home game of the season

RENO, Nevada – The Broncos’ four-run run in the seventh inning was too much for Pack’s comeback, falling 8-3 in the series finale.

The Broncos scored two runs in the first inning with a two-run home run to right center. The platoon managed to halve the lead with a sacrifice fly of Gabby Herrera to score Haley Painter.

The Pack took the lead in the third with Painter’s 15e home run of the season in the form of a two-run shot over the right field wall.

Boise State regained the lead in the fifth with a two-RBI double, putting the Broncos ahead 4-3. The Broncos broke the game open in the seventh, starting with a two-RBI single, and moved to second on the throw. The Broncos followed with two more RBI singles for the 8-3 win.

Carley Brown threw a complete game, throwing seven innings, striking out five and walking one. Brown allowed eight runs on nine hits, all earned.

  • Chelie Senini tyres Gabby Herrera for the most hits this season with 67, the seventh most in Nevada history.
  • The Wolf Pack finishes the 2024 season with a home record of 12-3. The twelve wins rank fifth in Nevada history. The team’s .800 home winning percentage is third-best in Wolf Pack history.
  • Senini passes Danielle Patrick for the eighth-most games played in Nevada history (213). Senini passes Britton Murdock for the eighth-most games in Nevada history (211).
  • Painter passed Megan Sweet for the fourth-most bases in a single season at Nevada (124).

The Pack heads to San Diego to take on the Aztecs in their final conference series of the season with the series opener on Friday, April 26, with first pitch at 6 p.m.
