Man arrested for shooting at Williamson

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. – Police made an arrest in a pair of shootings in Williamson this week.

James Victor Hash Jr., 20, of Oceana, W.Va., was arrested Friday for attempted murder, destruction of property, prohibited person in possession of a firearm and brandishing a firearm.

Police believe he is the person responsible for a drive-by shooting in a car on Tuesday and a shooting in an apartment building the following night. No one was injured in either incident. He was identified as a suspect based on information from the public and a review of security camera footage from the area of ​​the shooting.

Hash is now being held at the Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden. The case was investigated by the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office and the Williamson Police Department, with assistance from the West Virginia State Police and the Williamson Fire Department.
